Hospice volunteers are considered a member of our Reliable Hospice team and therefore are subject to the same regulations as company employees.
Here is a brief overview of what we require to become a Volunteers:
- Orientation Training – Education is a big part of our volunteer program and this one-day training program is presented by Reliable Hospice’s volunteer coordinator at our corporate facility.
- Medical Clearance*
MEDICAL CLEARANCE IS DONE IN HOUSE, NO COST TO YOU!
- TB Test* (Two-step test) – A second TB test is required to rule out false negative/positive results.
- Flu Shot* – This is given in our office and is required only during the flu season which runs Oct-March.
- Background Check – This service is completed by our administrative staff at no cost to the volunteer.
*These tests are administered FREE of charge in our office or can be done at a US Healthworks location office near you.
